Top Three Predictions for Humanoid Robots in 2019

It’s been a long time since Sophia is ruling the internet if we search for humanoids and robots on google. For those of you who don’t know who is Sophia – the world’s first AI-powered humanoid robots are quite a stunner with impressive features. Besides looks, she boasts of an admirable sense of humor. Designed by Hong Kong-based company Hanson Robotics, Sophia has many human values like wisdom, compassion, and kindness.

But about ‘Terminator’, we have already seen what humanoids can do in movies like ‘Terminator’ and even in Bollywood with ‘Robot’ and ‘Robot 2.0’. Humanoids taking over the world and what not! Here are the top three predictions about humanoid robots in 2019.

The Forth Industrial Revolution

Yes if we talk about humanoid and try to predict the future, it will always start from manufacturing and a limited number of humanoids wont do much to our society. In December 2017, the world’s first humanoid robotics mass production factory was opened in Turkey. The AkinRobotics Factory, established by a software company called AkinSoft, makes robots that can process what they hear, smell and speak. Moreover, they can use the internet! This can be the 4th industrial revolution as several companies are already toying with the idea of opening mass production factories for humanoid robots. Not just try to imagine robots inventing and manufacturing more robots.

Humanoid or Jobnoids

About 5 years ago, Elon Musk has predicted that AI i.e. Artifical Intelligence would become seriously dangerously by 2019. Since 2019 is here, we should actually think about jobs. We have more engineers than the number of jobs. Now just imagine robots taking over all dull and dangerous jobs that humans could do. Many people feared that robots will take over the world and steal their jobs. But in reality, robots will only replace humans for tasks that are tedious, repetitive and dangerous in some cases. For Example welding, etc These jobs can have hazardous effects on the health of the human worker. Since they don’t need much knowledge to weld, we don’t have to worry about robots taking over the world. Complex mechanisms without AI for welding won’t harm!

Humanoids as caregivers

While technology has made lives considerably easier for seniors, they still need a hand with their everyday chores once in a while. And, in today’s fast-paced world, their relatives and friends often find it difficult to make such time, either due to their hectic schedules or distances. This is where humanoids robots come int.
