If you’re trying to decide between a fast but expensive SSD, and a slower but cheaper and more spacious HDD, could hybrid drives be a good compromise?

Separate drives for me ….well untill size and price is better for SSD
Um… There's one problem Techquickie. while the SSD is killing itself over long gaming periods the HDD is also dying over not being turned off. If you ask me, for anyone who wants a multi-decade long term drive- SSHD should be swapped. SSD doesn't kill it'self when storing things unlike HDDs. Since HDDs kill themselves just for being on, we might as well use them because if the HDD dies, the SSD technically does too-unless it dies first. So basically unless you have a 32gb Flash you're screwed, 2.3TB usage won't last long at all, especially for me who plan big things with multi-hundred Gig lossless recorded videos. I hope the 32GB Flash one comes in 3.5 instead of 2.5 then I would have nearly 10TB usage before death can FLASH-before my eyes, get it.
Nice video, thank you for uploading
Aha! The flash memory capacity. That's all I needed to know, this drive is useless. I could hardly get by with a 120 Gb SSD and a 1 TB HDD, I'm definitely not gonna get an SSHD with only 32 gigs of flash memory XD who came up with this? And I can't hint to what I want to go fast? Yeah, definitely not my piece of cake.
thank for the perfect explanation on hybrid hdd, thanks…
what does he mean about the cake
if you buy a pc with both ssd and hdd would you have to select the main driver or would it automatically use ssd for speed?thx
Storage all depends on this. I'm actually surprised by a 500 GB SSD I'm ordering is a ton of storage compared to 250 gigs
Hard drive = transfer SPEED
SSD = QUICKER ACCESS TIMES
Hard drive is MUCH FASTER than SSD – SSD is MUCH QUICKER than hard drive.
Just like how a car with a supercharger is QUICKER but a car with a bigger engine and turbo is FASTER and will catch up. The turbo takes longer to spin up than the super but it's FASTER once it gets going, while the super is QUICKER.
English is fun.
Good
I'm just getting one so that i can use my 2tb hard drive for gaming and storage then use the os on the ssd part then use the hard drive part for personal storage then get a larger ssd for gaming.
How to make a 250GB SSD my NAND for a 4TB HDD <<< DIY Hybrid 😎
ssd and sshd
so its a drive with optane built in
Update: After 200 series intel motherboards: best option is to pair Intel Optane with a 1 TB mechanical @7200 rpm. It is way cheaper than 1tb ssd and faster.
Pls do something about your hairs.
Lol Tuna half
Thanks for the video upload. Samsung Tab A 10.1 has a hybrid drive, and I'm planning to get one. Are hybrid drives durable, reliable in a portable, mobile device?
Can i combine sshd with ssd ? I wanted to install windows on ssd and for storage sshd . Someone tell me please .
1kb of SSD + 999999999999 of HDD
Sounds like intel optane memory
Linus… so i want to buy sshd or hdd 7200rpm??? I have first m.2 slot in asus n580vd.?
