🤔 hmm 5-7 inches long your d***
Same with car radios. Antennas are now stamped onto the rear window above the defrost wires
For the 13 years I have i never watched a channel that is very good explaining every question that I hace. Thanks Linus
The antenna band on the back of old apple phones came from HTC.
How does weaving an antenna on a printed board work when the wavelength of the signal isn't good up in the same way?
Hi Linus. You should have seen the UK Post Office 'Radiophone 4'. Occupied the entire car trunk/boot. Even had a dial to make calls with, no need for the manual board operator. Worked in London only. BobUK (Yup, I'm VERY old!).
I think a well functioning ones look good
A little company I might have heard of, called "mispronounced Finnish".
Modern phones are so boring looking. I hate minimalism.
Korean smartphones do have retractable antenna, in order to receive digital TV signal.
I remember the pull up antenna… it would work with it down, but in the poorest spots, pulling the antenna up gave it a huge advantage over many other phones with concealed or stub antennas – the network used both bands, so I guess with the antenna up, it could do better on the low band signal
Random question: does my iPad Pro WiFi edition produce more radiation than my phone with a network and WiFi?
I knew you were going to say "speaking of…"
😂
Fantastic video, my first phone Sony cube had a very long antenna.
I used to have a Filipino Starmobile smartphone that had a retractable antenna.
Yeah, I never really used that phone. The antenna TV and FM radio functions were cool though.
No kia? I've always pronounced it knock-ee-ah
Now I'm confused, was his pronunciation of Nokia wrong or right. I've always said it Nok-ia, but Linus said it No-kia. I'm from the UK and I've had a few Nokia phones and we call them Nokia-blockias because they felt like bricks. But what do you guys think bout the pronunciation?
2:14 this is how electronics look now and how they looked in 1970's… Electronics aren't a one same thing, it depends what it is. Mobile phones have always been built with surface mounted components, so their internals looked the same as they look now. You showed through hole components which are still used today but never were in mobile phones…
WTF is an inch?
OMG just watched this on 1.75 x speed. Best thing I`ve done.
I remember ( starts crying )
that damn joke at 1:37 XD
Because of the internet
Fractal antennae!!!

When he says later at 3:10, you can see him spit.
2:43 that company back in the day build the hardest substance on Earth
Tries to pass off a modern TV PSU board as the internals of a Motorola Dynatac.
Linus… Come now Linus, really?
How to extend a simple 3 line answer to a 5 minute video /s
respect nokia for making your iphone doesnt have the long antenas
Does anyone NOT think that the original title was more appropriate? ("What Happened To My PHONE ANTENNAS?!") Please stop with this clickbaity nonsense. This is an educational channel. Make it easy for people to find the videos that they need.
E-cards As Fast As Possible
I never really used a tv like that
Nope nope and nope … AMPS here was 800meg as is our current WCDMA and as was our CDMA. What the difference is rather is more towers in more locations needing to cover less range. Our GSM digital was 900meg which is not that far off. Good work on getting the wavelength correct for HF CB!!
HMM 5G .. bringing more cancerous RF closer to your neighbourhood. Leave the bloody things on towers in buttfuck nowhere please instead of cooking the burbs.
5G causes cancer
02:42 Noukija? never heard
From Jayz channel 000 Linus = #LinusTakeKeesToLTX2019
Meanwhile Apple invented the blockable antenna by holding the phone in a….common way.
The fruit boots with the boom box was a nice touch lmao
