Artificial body parts have been around for a long time, but how is modern tech allowing patients to get replacements that look and function more like the real deal?

Wish have Adam Jansen metal biomechanical arms that would be cool
Really, REALLY looking forward to when prosthesis become more easily purchasable. Now a lot of people would say "Dont chop your limbs off for it!" but I would highly benefit from them. Suffer from a small nerve neuropathy which causes constant searing and burning pain. Imagine holding your hand above a gas stove till it hurts and reflex kicks in to pull you back, pretty much that pain but I cant "pull away" from it. Chopping off the shitty, malfunctioning limbs to finally be free of this pain is worth the risk in my eyes.
wait…
robot arms exist?!?!
soon gaming will reach a full dive system and computors can finally rule the world mwhahahaha
I forgot 'As Fast As Possible' was the name of the series and briefly wondered when the superhumanly fast punches were going to show up.

For me this video, and most from this channel, is(/are) like watching youtube's beginner guitarist-oriented videos it suggests to me sometimes. I knew it all, so I have a hard time judging it. But it definitely provided some information, and seemed like a good starting point. Plus in this case it's something that's SO EXCITING. So thumbs up because of awe and wonder.
smooth intro

i have to say that i'm disappointed that he didn't mention Edward Elric and his Automail.

I just caught myself thinking: "Wouldn't it be awesome to have one of those smart robotic arms?!" But I then went on and realised what an inconsiderate thought that actually was.

Wasn't there something like this on disay by intel at CES 2014/2015? You could have utilized that.
I want to like the video but currently is on 3333 likes and don't want to to be the one that breaks the number @_@
To post something relevant to the video… my father has a robotic left leg prosthetic after infection from a car accident forced us to amputate above the knee (a more serious amputation). The leg he uses responds to pressure on the foot which tells the knee to bend. It's smart enough to even have a program built-in that allows him to go up and downstairs, kneel and squat. Very cool. Just not much fun at the airport…
