First announced at the CES 2019 tech show in Las Vegas earlier this year, the Nubia Z20 dual-screen smartphone has been officially unveiled in China. It will go on sale in the country on August 16, before being launched globally next month.
Nubia Z20 Specifications and Features
The successor to last year’s Nubia Z18, the Z20 offers a unique alternative to notches and motorized cameras with a dual-screen setup that includes a secondary screen on the back to facilitate high-quality selfies with rear-facing triple-cam module. The rear screen also doubles as an always-on display whose on-screen triggers can be custom mapped for a superior gaming experience. The device also comes with the Red Magic’s ‘Game Space hub’ feature as part of Nubia’s efforts to make it a compelling option for mobile gamers.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855+ SoC, which is a slightly tweaked version of the standard 855 with faster CPU and GPU clock speeds. The device also comes with up to 8GB of RAM, up to 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage and a 4,000mAh battery with up to 27W PD fast charging. The screens include a bezel-less 6.42-inch FHD+ display at the front and a touch-enabled 5.1-inch HD+ flexible AMOLED panel on the back.
The Nubia Z20 sports a triple camera module that includes a 48MP main camera with OIS, a 16MP ultra-wide angle camera with 122.2-degree field of view and an 8MP telephoto camera that offers the equivalent of up to 3x optical zoom for long-distance shots. The Z20 also supports 8K ultra-high definition, 1920fps super-slow-motion and HDR10 10-bit video recording.
